After a long Covid break we finally got another invitation to compete against a Lithuanian hockey team. So, from the 20.5. until the 22.5. we travelled to Vilnius with the Riga Stradins University hockey team, consisting of players from the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Italy.

Most of the team already arrived Friday evening, so that a chosen four of our players were able to compete in the real Lithuanian first field hockey league, for which they joined the Ardas Hockey team. With the help of our four players the team was able to win the game with 2:1. The rest of the team had a picknick at the pitch before we went back to the hotel. Saturday morning we did a sightseeing tour and paid a visit to the Gediminas tower. In the afternoon, when the rest of the team arrived, we were picked up and drove to Rundamina, where we had our first match: RSU team versus Ardas Hockey team. First Ardas took the lead with 1:0 but then we really started playing the field and in the end, we won with 8:1. After the game we did not only get a trophy but also some delicious local snacks. In the evening we met our opponents again for dinner and had a nice evening in Vilnius. On Sunday four of us were again allowed to play with the local team, whilst many of us watched the game and saw another win with 4:3. After that we took the bus back home to Riga. Overall, it was an amazing weekend and all of us made some new friends. A special thanks to the Lithuanian team that made all this possible.
